Heartwings Love Notes 306 - Dreams Can Come True

Heartwings says, "Wishing really can make it so, the trick is to have the patience to wait for what you have wished for."

"When You Wish Upon A Star," the first song I remember from my childhood suggests that by wishing you can make your dreams come true. This really does work. However you have to be sure you know what you are wishing for, as well as be willing to restructure your dreams when they do come true yet don't quite measure up to the reality you expected.

Recently I had a heartwarming conversation with a longtime friend. She told me that the dream she and her husband had had for so long was being fulfilled at last. Actually in certain respects it had manifested earlier in several different forms. Over time she and her husband had thought they had made their dream home a reality. Each time they achieved what they believed they wanted, it hadn't quite worked out.

I have been there and done that too. It takes time to discover what you really want, yet as you wish and as you plan you can learn what works and what does not. There is an old proverb that says, "Be careful what you wish for, you may get it." I know when I wished for a big house with a swimming pool and a garden and got it, that before very long I had tired of the amount of work entailed and the next time I wished I was far more modest in my design.

What was special was the way my friend's dream home appeared complete with unique indications that this really was the correct place for them. I too had a similar experience. Stephen and I had seen our current home from a distance and both said, "That looks like a wonderful place to live," several months before it went on the market and we ended up buying it. The key to making your dreams a reality is patience.
