December

We've a busy month ahead with Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn all changing signs. In a addition, Jupiter goes retrograde and Uranus turns direct! Pluto and Uranus are still traveling close together symbolizing the unrest and chaos that pervades the globe and takes many forms. Chaos is significant in the birthing process as any mother experiencing the labor pains of childbirth can tell you. It is to be hoped that we will experience the birth of a new order out of the current chaos, however it does appear that the old order is breaking down in what for many is a frightening manner.

It is important to remember that this is the month of the Winter Solstice when the Sun is reborn and begins to grow stronger, the daylight hours will slowly but surely increase. The old must pass away, must break down for the new to be born.  After the chaos of a volcano there is great fertility in the region, because the volcanic eruption functions as a kind of giant recycling process. It may seem this is similar to what is happening now, yet if we focus on the day to day realities of living and work to shape our lives in a way that can help ourselves and others learn and grow we can make order out of chaos and nurture the new opportunities that arise from it.

The Full Moon in Gemini is on the 6th, St. Nicholas Day, and a lovely day to give from the fullness of your heart to your neighbors and siblings. The New Moon in Capricorn is on the 21st, the same day that Uranus turns direct and the Sun enters Capricorn for the Winter Solstice. This is a powerful day and perhaps a very special one. Certainly it will be important to make New Year wishes for ourselves as well as New Year's resolutions. More than this, however let us remember that Uranus has been called the Great Awakener. The energy is there for us to apply. Perhaps if we all envision a great awakening for humanity we can help bring it into being.

Mid month there is another square between Pluto and Uranus. This symbolizes a clash of Titans, as Uranus is a thunderbolt of change while Pluto brings up whatever has been hidden beneath the ground to the light of day. You could compare them to an earthquake or a tsunami combined with a volcano. This process has been going on for a while and has one more clash to go next year. Take heart in the retrograde motion of Jupiter on the 8th  which can bring about delayed rewards, promises pleasant surprises. Saturn's entry into Sagittarius on the 23rd will bring some structure to a variety of situations and institutions.
