February begins quietly and unobtrusively, with no major aspects until February 6th, when Mercury, from the viewpoint of earth as the center of the planets, appears to stop and reverse motion. This happens three times a year and is a useful time for certain things and a difficult one in others. Any task of a "re" nature is more effective than most any initiatory action. So rewriting or restating works better than new writing or making a new statement. I am hoping to use the energy to edit my close-to-finished book
Heartwings Lemonade Stand, Ways to Squeeze the Juice from Life's Lemons. The entire three weeks of Retrograde Mercury take place during February, making this a good month to clear up, clean out, and generally prune back whatever needs it. It's also a time when the past comes back, people show up you haven't seen for a while, or you get to rediscover what you had forgotten that makes you happy. On the 12th it will be important to respond positively to an old issue that recurs. This has karmic implications so best to attend to it. Mercury backs into Aquarius the next day and it may be easier to find unique solutions to problems in communication. On Valentines' Day the February Full Moon gets a boost from the Mars trine by the Sun, indicating a lot of potential for action of a constructive--make that reconstructive nature. On the 15th, the energy of the Sun's conjunction with Mercury intensifies communications and can enhance thinking processes. Then early AM EST on the 16th, Mercury trines Mars. What an interesting three days this could be. In the mundane world, I might expect to see news of some kind regarding aggressive or energetic activity or actions. I plan to use the energy with my writing, though with Retrograde Mercury sometimes it's difficult to follow a pre-made plan. The Sun moves into Pisces on the 18th. The atmosphere can grow both more giving and more spacey. It's easier to get lost or disoriented, however intuition functions better during the month of Pisces. On the 18th and 19th both there is a stumbling block to be turned into a stepping stone. With careful attention to thinking, a problem of long standing can be solved. The 23rd, with its Sun conjunct Neptune, would be a good day to enjoy a movie or take a meditation class. On the 26th there could be a surprise in the form of a blessing or some kind of abundance. Finally on the 28th Mercury turns direct. New items can now be safely purchased and new projects begun, though it's better to wait a few days until Mercury has sped up a bit. It's a relative quiet month, one to take advantage of the prevailing moon energy and find useful ways to put it to work. Best Wishes for a Happy February. |
