July

The month begins with the direct motion of Mercury. Breathe a sigh of relief and get back to normal in terms of communication, transportation, and whatever else you may experience with Mercury Retrograde. To be sure, we can no longer blame RM for any mix-ups either. However, take it slow to begin with because Mercury is not yet up to speed. It is still in Gemini unto mid month, when it will begin zipping through Cancer and back to normal again.

In terms of astrological events, Venus, Mars and Jupiter all change signs this month--Jupiter's change being the most significant, while Saturn turns direct and Uranus turns retrograde. Venus' move into Cancer on the 19th signals a desire to stay closer to home and the family. Mars entry into Scorpio on the 26th signals more emphasis on sexuality, regeneration and renewal and de-emphasis of beautification projects, legal matters and partnerships.

Jupiter's entry into Leo signals a general rise in a more showy rise of generosity--ads for luxury proliferate, as well as a broadening of social welfare and education with a stronger emphasis on romance, children and pleasure. New forms of gambling may arise or be promoted. Saturn's direct movement can signal the resolution of what has been blocked or stuck as well as the strengthening of structures already in place. Uranus retrograde brings an opportunity to return to earlier innovation or sudden decisions for review.

Full and New Moons this month are normal. Full Moon in Capricorn on the 12th could help turn the tide concerning one, or bring a business or political issue to a head. On a personal level it is an opportunity to enhance the practical application of any work in the home as well as shed light on practical matters needing our attention. The New Moon in Leo on the 26th highlights romantic beginnings as well as opportunities for romance and creativity.

Individual days to be mindful include Sun opposing Pluto on the 4th: apply energy to transformation; Sun square Uranus on the 8th: expect the unexpected; Sun square Mars on the 18th and 19th: move mindfully to avoid accidents; Uranus turning retrograde on the 21st: a potential for accidents Mercury square Uranus on the 24th: monitor carefully all communications, and Venus opposing Pluto on the 28th: choices made today could have pervasive effects.

All in all this seems to be a relatively relaxed month. Opportunity knocks with Venus sextile Uranus on the 6th and Sun trine Saturn on the 8th; the 13th Venus trine enhances all activities. Mars restrictions are lifted as Saturn turns direct on the 20th; communication improves with  Mercury trine Saturn on the 24th, a Sun Jupiter conjunction means a good fortune for all: a day to propose marriage or begin an enterprise, Mercury squaring Uranus could help with originality.
